More About The Birth Of Our Baby

We had planned to stay at home, and I was intending to use a birth pool - it was all ready to go. I felt prepared and happy through practising all the HypnoBirthing® techniques. One of the important elements of the practice is to accept and go with whatever path your birthing takes. This proved vital when special circumstances arose and I ended up giving birth in hospital. Throughout my labour I remained calm and positive, supported by my partner who was equally prepared and calm - he was amazing! Our beautiful daughter was born, not in the way we had planned but with love and joy. As is often reported with HypnoBirthing® babies, she turned out to be a calm and happy baby - another of the many benefits of the wonderful HypnoBirthing® technique!

About me:

I have been a teacher for many years and have always found great satisfaction in working with children and young people. I discovered HypnoBirthing® while preparing for the birth of my baby. I was amazed to find all my preconceptions and fears regarding labour were turned around; I found that the explanations and techniques were just what I needed to turn labour and birth into the joyful experience it should be for all mothers. I trained to become a HypnoBirthing® Practitioner while on maternity leave - thankfully, I enjoy a busy life! Now, I am delighted to share the gift of a calm and joyful birth with other parents-to-be.

As part of my interest in promoting natural childbirth and improving birth experiences for families, I am also a member of the Maternity Services Liaison Committee; Sheffield Maternity Forum; and Antenatal Forum.
